There are 2 systems of color: Additive and Subtractive.

Subtractive can be demonstrated with paint, pigments, and dyes.

Additive can be used n film, web design, games.

Another word for color is Hue.

You can change the value of color by adding tints, tones, and shades.

You can change the intensity of a color by adding or subtracting black and white.

Warm and cool colors are colors that can be used in many ways.

Warm colors are higher on the visible light spectrum.  Ex: Red, Yellow, Orange and can be often used for emphasis in a design.

Cool colors are lower on the light spectrum. Ex Blue, Violet, Green.. and can be used for calming feeling in a design.

Color Dominance is using color to show emphasis.

You can achieve atmospheric perspective with color by adding a tint or tone to the color as it recedes into the back of the picture plane.

Color Discord is the opposite of color harmony.  You can use it to show emphasis.
